Prof. Arnilla attends International Autism Conference

Prof. Arvin Kim A. Arnilla attended the International Autism Conference held on February 3, 4, 5, 2010 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Manila. The conference brought together experts on autism from around the globe. Plenary speakers and symposia lecturers included researchers from the Boston University, Harvard University, University of Alabama, Yale University, University of California - Davis and San Francisco State University.

During the three - day conference, the participants chose from a menu of topics ranging from Screening, Assessment and Diagnosis, Medical and Educational Intervention.

The speakers did not fail to present the latest researches on autism.

The event also brought together educational leaders, SPED teachers, parents of special children, and interested professionals.

"I attended the conference to gain exposure on teaching strategies for different type for learners consistent with my objective of bringing new perspectives on my teaching.I get the best practices from other disciplines and synthesize them to creat an entirely new perspective theat suits my need,"said Prof.Arnilla.

Prof. Arnilla is interested in special education, special children and the avialable interventions to remedy the behavioral excesses and deficits of children/adults with ASD. The conference was sponsored by UCDavis -M.I.N.D Institute, Autism Speaks, Autism Society Philippines and the Phil. Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics.
