Dr. Dennis I. Ibutnande was conferred Doctor of Philosophy in Criminology(PhD Crim.) by the Philippine College of Criminology (PCCr) in a fitting ceremony held at the Phillippine International Convention Center in May 2008. Dr. Ibutnande work on his dissertation entitled ''Multicultural Issues of Crimes in Boracay Island: Implications to the Security and Safety of Tourists."
This accomplishment of Dr. Ibutnande makes him one of two Criminology deans in Western Visayas who hold a doctorate degree in Criminology.
Also, five Criminology instructors received their masters degree in Criminology. Prof. Jeanet I. Rubias , JO3 Allan L. Lariosa, P/Insp. Josephine A. Jomocan, Prof. Dina M. Lariosa graduated Master of Science in Criminology from the West Visayas State University Lambunao Campus, Lumbunao, Iloilo.
Prof. Rubias submitted her thesis entitled "Performance of Parole Probation Volunteer Aides" while JO3 Lariosa presented his thesis entitled "Faith Dimension and Attitude Towards Rehabilitation of Inmates." P/Insp. Jomocan submitted her thesis entitled "Police Image in the Province of Aklan" while Prof. Tamayo presented his thesis entitled "Effectiveness of the Services of Security Agencies in the Province of Aklan."Prof. Dina M.Lariosa submitted her thesis entitled "Attitude Toward R.A. 9344."
Prof. Arvin Kim A. Arnilla was conferred Master of Arts in Education (Pagtuturo ng Filipino) by the University of Iloilo. The title of his thesis was "Paggamit ng Teknohohiyang Pang edukation at Antas ng Kahusayan sa Pagtuturo."
The academic qualifications of instructors makes NVC the best Criminology school in Region VI in terms of most qualified dean and instructors. This is also the result of the aggressive faculty development program of the NVC.
